References: A post in Blog About Beer alerted me to the predicament of the new general manager of the Dogfish Head restaurant/brewery/distillery in Rehoboth Beach, DE. Apparently he is having a helluva time selling his log cabin in upstate New York and the brewery is stepping up to sweeten the deal for any prospective buyer. It’s a 4 bedroom, 2 bathroom, 2 floor log constructed home on 5 acres. Read all about it. They need to sell this house so that the family can move down to Delaware and be reunited at long last for the holidays.

References: Inspired by Zythophile who references an article in The Times that shows that authors of the government guidelines on problem drinking simply made up the limits for safe drinking levels with no basis in scientific fact. To quote the article:
“…these guidelines have no basis in science. Rather, in the words of a member of the committee that drew them up, they were simply “plucked out of the air”.”
The article goes on to show that later studies completely contradicted the official limits. Moderation is still key to a healthy lifestyle, but what constitutes moderate drinking is yet to be determined scientifically and is much higher than the government guidelines. It should also be noted that moderate drinkers live longer than total abstainers. Cheers!
