This launch is definitely one for your diaries. On Thursday the 26th November 2015 the story of the recent ‘Renaissance of The Junction Public House, Castleford’ by David ‘The Bloke from Hull’ Litten will be officially released at the eponymous public house.
Never heard of it? Well you should have. It’s the only pub in the UK where all the real ales are drawn direct from wooden casks. Even Roger Protz has been (several times) to this fantastic little boozer to sample and be astounded by the taste of real ales ‘from the wood’. In fact he was so impressed he has collaborated with David and written the foreword for the book. David Litten, a regular contributor to many CAMRA publications, charts the rise of the pub from virtually the edge of darkness to the community gem and highly accoladed (CAMRA & SPBW) boozer that it is today.
As well as the book launch and the regular excellent selection of real ale from wooden casks, there will be local celebrities, a special ale from a well known W.Yorkshire brewer, and the chance to sample some Castleford Caviar. Don’t know what that is? Well come along to The Junction (109 Carlton St, Castleford, Yorkshire WF10 1EE) at 8.00pm Thursday 26th November or read the book. Mail order details on the poster.
